•Weekly Mindfulness in Recovery Group at The Metro Suburban Recovery Learning Center Cultivate compassion and self-acceptance in a supportive environment. Learn mindful living skills and discuss recovery topics. Themes of weekly groups have been happiness, self-expression, self-compassion, centering, interpersonal relationships, weaving mindfulness into daily life, among others. Skills learned in the group are internal mindfulness (mindfulness of thoughts, feelings, emotions, intuitions, spirit), and external mindfulness (attentiveness, one-pointed focus, flow), seated meditation practice, breathwork, the mindful check-in, body-scan meditation, and interpersonal mindfulness.

When: Every Tuesday at 12:30pm.

•Weekly Journaling For Wellness group at The Metro Suburban Recovery Learning Center
Creative expression through the use of journal writing for recovery, holistic wellness, and personal growth. We will explore and practice varied journaling techniques based on the successful Journal to The Self (JTTS) workshop including,
Captured Moments, Clustering, Dialogue, Guided Imagery, Inner Wisdom, Springboards, 5-Minute Sprint, among others.
The benefits of using a journal are extensive, for example:
• Find and develop your own creative voice
• Learn to release tension, frustration, anger, and other strong emotions
• Develop your recovery story
• Learn to tap into the vast storehouse of knowledge and wisdom stored in your subconscious mind
• Keep a record for the future of how your life unfolds
• Experiment with creative writing
• Outwit dreaded writer's block and increase overall writing skills
• Clarify personal goals
• Write spontaneously and with joy
• Learn to regard your journal as a trusted, valued friend

•Intro to Meditation Workshop Experience the joy of mindfulness meditation! Mindfulness and learning to be more present and attentive to your own life can transform your stress. Through meditation, you will begin opening your heart center and learn to be more open and receptive to joy, peace, and happiness. In this class, you will learn essential techniques to establish your daily practice.

•Holistic Recovery Group Holistic Recovery at Open Doors Learning and Healing Center
Mind, body, spirit integrative approach to substance abuse and/or mental health recovery (dual recovery). This group is an alternative gathering place to explore spirituality and wellness in recovery, it is both an educational skills group and participative support forum.

Group Overview: Collaborative discussions on holistic, and mind - body - spirit wellness practice for self-facilitated healing and physical wellness in recovery. Meditation practices and mindfulness skills that address areas of recovery including: emotional distress, interpersonal relationships, and creative expression; integrating the use of expressive writing and journaling as powerful modes of healing. • Event: Mindfulness at the Beach In the warm weather, please join us for a mini-retreat of mindful walking in the fresh air and sunshine. We will also be doing short meditations and practicing mindful walking as a group. Transportation will be provided to and from South Shore Mental Health 460 Quincy Ave., Quincy.

Where: Wollaston Beach. We will meet after the weekly mindfulness group at Metro Suburban Recovery Learning Center at 460 Hancock St. 2nd floor in Quincy, MA

• Insight Coaching - Mindful Living and Meditation Instruction Free ½ hour introductory session. Receive one on one personalized coaching with an experienced meditation instructor and positive mental health facilitator. Areas of specialization are: mind-body-spirit integration; positive ways of managing and coping with stress; developing a daily mindful living practice; understanding personal strengths and life purpose, and how to put strengths into action; and integrating wellness into your lifestyle. ½ hour and 1 hour appointments available. Sliding fee scales based on finances.
